History
Diglett, known in French as Excavatrice, is an iconic Ground-type Pokémon, famous for its body barely emerging from the ground. It is renowned for digging quickly and living in underground colonies, leaving furrows in the soil. The Diglett 75/82 card from the Team Rocket expansion perfectly captures the essence of this Pokémon in a simple yet effective illustration.
The Team Rocket expansion, released in 2000, marked a turning point in the Pokémon TCG universe by introducing darker themes and the famous "Dark Pokémon." This series highlighted the criminal organization Team Rocket and its schemes. The Diglett card, while not a Dark Pokémon itself, fits into this atmosphere as a common card, offering a glimpse into classic Pokémon fauna within a thematically unique expansion.
Sumiyoshi Kizuki's artwork for this card depicts Diglett emerging from the ground with a determined expression. Kizuki's style, recognizable by its clean lines and vibrant colors, brings this Pokémon to life. As a 1st Edition card, it bears the coveted "1st Edition" stamp, distinguishing it from later print runs and giving it a special status for collectors.
