History
Diglett, the Mole Pokémon, is an iconic creature from the first generation, known for its body being buried underground, with only its head visible. This Ground-type Pokémon is renowned for digging complex tunnels and living in colonies, often in agricultural areas or caves. Its presence is often a sign of fertile soil, although its tunnels can sometimes cause inconvenience.
The Diglett 47/102 card is part of the illustrious Base Set, the very first Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion to be released in the West. This foundational set, launched in 1999, laid the groundwork for a global phenomenon and is instantly recognizable by all fans. It features the original 151 Pokémon and is the starting point for any serious collection.
Keiji Kinebuchi's artwork for this card depicts Diglett in its classic pose, emerging from the ground with a determined gaze. Kinebuchi's artistic style is characteristic of early TCG cards, favoring simplicity and authenticity to capture the Pokémon's essence. This 1st Edition version adds significant historical value to this timeless classic.
