History
Ivysaur, the Seed Pokémon, is the evolution of Bulbasaur and the first intermediate link in the famous Grass/Poison type starter lineage from the first generation. Recognizable by the bulb on its back, which blossoms into a large flower as it approaches its final evolution, Venusaur, Ivysaur is a symbol of growth and latent power in the Pokémon universe.
The Ivysaur 30/102 card hails from the iconic Base Set, the very first Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion released in the West. This 1st Edition, identifiable by its small "1st Edition" logo on the left side of the artwork, is particularly sought after by collectors for its historical value and rarity.
The artwork for this card, signed by the legendary Ken Sugimori, the original designer of Pokémon, captures Ivysaur in a dynamic and recognizable pose. His distinctive style, simple yet effective, brings the Pokémon to life with vibrant colors and a sense of movement, making this card a timeless classic and a testament to the franchise's artistic legacy.
