History
The Espeon 1/75 card from the Neo Discovery expansion is an iconic piece for collectors, marking the arrival of one of the most elegant Eeveelutions from the second generation. Espeon, known for its psychic abilities and deep bond with its Trainer, makes its debut in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the Neo era, which introduced Pokémon from the Johto region.
The Neo Discovery expansion, released after Neo Genesis and Neo Revelation, continued to broaden the TCG universe by introducing new gameplay mechanics and previously unseen Pokémon. Espeon is a Psychic-type Pokémon, recognizable by the red gem on its forehead and its forked tail, symbolizing its clairvoyance and calm nature.
Atsuko Nishida's artwork perfectly captures the essence of Espeon. The Pokémon is depicted in a graceful pose, with an ethereal background that accentuates its Psychic typing. Nishida is a prolific and highly regarded artist who has contributed to many iconic Pokémon TCG illustrations since its early days, and her work on this Espeon card is a perfect example of her ability to bring Pokémon to life.
