History
Flareon, one of the three original Eevee evolutions, is among the iconic Pokémon of the first generation. The Flareon 3/64 card comes from the Jungle expansion, the second series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, launched in 1999 after the Base Set. This expansion marked a turning point by introducing many Generation 1 Pokémon not present in the Base Set, thus enriching the TCG universe.
Hironobu Yoshida's illustration captures Flareon in a dynamic pose, surrounded by flames, perfectly highlighting its Fire typing. This artwork is representative of the distinctive artistic style of the early Pokémon TCG editions, highly valued by collectors for its nostalgia and classic aesthetic.
This specific card is an "Edition 2," which, for the Jungle expansion, refers to an unlimited print run. It is thus distinct from the highly sought-after "1st Edition," recognizable by its small "1st Edition" symbol on the card. Although the unlimited edition is more common, this holographic version of Flareon remains a must-have for any collector looking to complete their Jungle set or own a piece of TCG history.
